Team and a Dream Newsletter
June 2007
Dear Skip,

Dads and Grads are the theme for this month's newsletter. I'd like to start off by congratulating - with great pride I might add - our own recent grad, Yasmine Mustafa. Yasmine graduated from Temple in December in entrepreneurship. Recently, she received the entrepreneurship award from Temple University, which is given to the highest ranking student in the entrepreneurship major. Yasmine has been running online marketing initiatives, doing competitive research, project managing software projects and editing The Cheap Revolution book (in her spare time).

The "dad" I'd like to acknowledge is Brian Robertson of Ternary. Brian is the "father of Holacracy." I'm excited about the potential for the ideas we hope to gain around this new generation of governance for our own business in the upcoming seminar on June 21st. Please register and join us for this hands-on, Holacracy-in-action, workshop on Holacracy. Read more below.

Some other Team and a Dream updates can be be found below. Thanks for reading!

Announcing The Cheap Revolution Blogbook

taad at 100%After waiting a little too long for our liking to start publishing our book on "The Cheap Revolution," Yasmine Mustafa and I decided to start publishing the contents we have assembled so far on our blog.

This serves a number of purposes:

  1. It gets the ideas out to you faster
  2. It gives me an opportunity to edit the material I wrote a year ago to introduce our latest thinking and experience
  3. It provides a forum (comments) for you to tell us what you think. Let us know how each section works for you - the good and the bad.

We might change the order, abbreviate sections and otherwise mix things up...but the goal is always the same. How can we help tech entrepreneurs to better engage in this new world as Cheap Revolutionaries.

We are also releasing chapter by chapter, PDF versions of our book available for downloading in our cheap revolution site.

Holacracy

Team and a Dream is the proud sponsor of a
seminar on the Introduction to Holacracy.

What is Holacracy?

It is a complete system for organizational governance and culture at the leading edge.  Drawing on cybernetics, pattern studies and integral theory, Holacracy is an integral practice that utilizes interwovenmodels, principles, and systems such as:
  • integrative decision-making
  • dynamic steering
  • requisite alignment

Featured recently in the Wall Street Journal, Holacracy results in a leap to a higher order of organization capable of artfully navigating a world of increasing complexity and uncertainty.

The event will be held on Tuesday, June 21, 2007 at the Ternary Software Office in Exton, PA from 4PM to 8PM. Click here for more details.
