Dear Adam,
This month our newsletter focuses on Virtual Teams. Given gas prices,
corporate cutbacks and the economic pinch on everyone, virtual teams
provide flexibility in time and price that helps startups and v-team
members alike. Check out this experimental blog post in which we had some fun playing with Youtube & Omnisio while riffing on virtual teams. This issue also introduces "Client Kudos" in which we recognize recent achievements of our past and present clients. |

Virtual Team Spotlight - Crederity
|
Crederity is a web-based trust-building company that provides online identity and
credential verification to people-powered companies. Team and a Dream has helped Crederity by conducting a competitive analysis and market assessment and is currently working with them on building buzz for their service using social media.
After
working with Crederity for a couple months, Team and a Dream realized that it
could use Crederity's services as well. The company decided to obtain Crederity
cards for many of its team members in order to further enhance its online
credibility and trust with its online visitors. These cards act as online
resumes that can be displayed on a website, attached in an e-mail, or added to
an existing resume. The cards display facts that an individual provides and
these facts are confirmed by a third party verifier, Crederity, and displayed on
the card as verified "Trust Facts."
Team and a Dream is currently verifying credentials of
over two dozen of its initial virtual team members with Crederity cards. The
verified cards can be seen at the Team and a Dream site. |
Intern Spotlight: Megan Mateer
|
Megan Mateer is an
intern that just recently joined Team and a Dream in May after finishing her
sophomore year at Clark University. Megan is a psychology major, and has a
variety of interests beyond her passion for people including Graphic Design,
Women's Studies, Sociology, and last but certainly not least, entrepreneurship.
Megan's interest in start-ups began when she interned for Take Care Health
Systems, an innovative health care start-up. In addition to her scholastic
interests, Megan is an avid runner, and loves playing competitive sports such
as soccer, squash, and Ultimate Frisbee.
What drew Megan to Team and a Dream? "The name and
philosophy of Team and a Dream was immediately interesting. I also thought that
by working with an emerging company I may be presented more opportunities to do a
variety of non-administrative things than if I interned at a large company."
What has she learned so far? "I've definitely have become much more
aware of the complexities of starting a business. It seems at first
that if you have a good idea that you are a success. Starting a
business is a lot more than a good idea. Communication and honesty is
key to creating a successful business relationship. I've also learned
that it is important, throughout the multitude of tasks that an
entrepreneur has to take on, not to lose focus of the big picture, and
not to sweat the small stuff." |
